Twenty-five years after Shrek first hit theaters, the ogre is now a brawler. Ubisoft's free-to-play fighter Brawlhalla launched a crossover today that invites Shrek, Fiona, Puss in Boots, and Donkey into its roster. The event runs through August 19.
The crossover celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Oscar-winning film and teases next summer's Shrek 5. Shrek appears as a Mythic Crossover for Xull, while Fiona and Puss in Boots are crossovers for Tezca and Asuri. Two swamp maps join the rotation: one competitive, one casual with a sticky new mud hazard.
Extras include a KO effect starring Mongo the giant gingerbread man and emoji skins for Lord Farquaad, Dragon, and Pinocchio. The whole thing is free on PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, and PC.
