Far Cry 3 heads to Switch 2 in spring 2027, with Blood Dragon in tow

Far Cry 3 Classic Edition and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon Classic Edition both reach Switch 2 in spring 2027, another older Ubisoft title revived for new hardware, like the Black Flag revival.

Far Cry 3 casts you as Jason Brody, a tourist fighting to survive the Rook Islands, an archipelago ruled by piracy and human misery. Loadout and skill customization let you go in guns blazing or pick a stealthy ranged approach. Older shooters still hold their pull: in July, Black Ops II beat the newer Black Ops 7 on PlayStation.

Blood Dragon is its own thing: a retro-futuristic standalone game inspired by 1980s sci-fi, starring Sergeant Rex Colt, a Mark IV Cyber Commando out for revenge against a former commanding officer on a nuclear-ravaged Earth.

Both already run on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC through the Ubisoft Store, Steam, and the Epic Games Store, plus Ubisoft+, and both got a free 60FPS update in January. Long-tail support keeps games alive, as The Division 2 and No Man's Sky show.
